Rebellion Records & LSM Vinyl

Savage Beat set the bar high with their 2017 ‘s EP ‘Trench Warfare’ and I wondered if they would be able to top it, well they have with debut album ‘Wired’ which was released recently through Rebellion Records and LSM Vinyl. ‘Trench Warfare’ was an excellent release but for me the band have taken the ten tracks on ‘Wired’ to another level and makes for one hell of an incredible listen. The five piece from Amsterdam mix ’77 punk, Oi!, pub rock, rock ’n’ roll with hints of glam and garage rock and the results are nothing short of sublime.
If you like your music with bags of energy, great riffs and gruff vocals then ‘Wired’ is an album you need to own. From the first track ‘Take It Further’ the band have me hooked with fast paced, riff heavy anthems that are not only well written but are performed by a band at the top of their game. One after the other the band deliver stomper after stomper without a bad song in sight with highlights including ‘So Much Hate’, ‘Down The Drain’, ‘Man’s Thunder’, and the excellent ‘All Odds Against You’.
Although the majority of the songs on ‘Wired’ are fast paced the title track is much slower than the others but still manages to pack a punch and Marko’s vocals are performed brilliantly. The album comes to an end with ‘Nowhere To Run’, a well written melodic song with a brilliant chorus and is quite possibly my favourite track on the album.
Savage Beat really have outdone themselves with this album and I’m sure it will appear high up on many people’s end of year lists, it will on mine. So there’s nothing else to say other than to pick up a copy, put your boots on and enjoy!
