Lagershop – English Pigs

Written by Mark Jones

Lagershop are Isaac Success, Danger Fourpence, Randy Sanchez, Danny Invincible, originally from Karlstad, Sweden but now based in Milton Keynes. The band play riff heavy and anthemic punk rock and have just released their impressive debut E.P ‘English Pigs’. The band cite Rancid, NOFX, Millencolin  and Idles as influences and they all come through on ‘English Pigs’ in which they fuse US punk riffs with UK shouty punk vocals to great effect.

I have given this E.P several listens and it makes for an easy listen and get better after every listen. ‘English Pigs’ kicks off with ‘Porte Cocheres’ which is a good start but it’s the riff heavy ‘Put That Kid In The Fucking Fridge’ that grabs my attention with some excellent guitar parts and vocal performance.

After a decent start with the first 2 tracks it’s the last 2 that are the most impressive. Firstly ‘Beer & Toothpaste’ then the brilliant title track, a catchy as hell song with a great chorus and is easily my favourite track on the E.P.

If you are a fan of the bands listed above then I recommend that you give this a listen, which is available digitally through the usual places. Lagershop have given us a decent debut and I will definitely be keeping an eye on them.
